Spring Wardrobe Musts From F&F Sale

Excuse-moi, parlez-vous frances? Non? That’s fine with us. But sometimes the words you’re looking for just sound (and look) so much better with a little French flare, so here are our favorite French Quotes.

So if FC can help you walk the walk with some inspiration for Valentine’s day outfits, why not help you talk the talk as well?

Now with Valentine’s Day round the corner, we all have our sights set on doing something a little extra to impress. With this in mind FC have made a lover’s list of the cute French sayings that will never fail to hit the right romantic note, whenever and wherever you are. Oh, and some fabulous French style to help you along with your French words:

1. “La vie est une fleur don’t l’amour est le miel”

[Pronounced: ‘la vee eh-st ooh-ne fleur, don la-morr eh-st luh me-elle] From the words of Victors Hugo himself, ‘life is a flower of which love is the honey’.
And who better to accompany this life-loving quote than French heroine Francoise Hardy: The ultimate girl-crush from another age with a voice like honey and the carefree spirt that these words were made for

2. “Pour toujours et a jamais”

[Pronounced: ‘Pour too-jaws eht aa jahmayz’. The queen of romantic farewells, it means, ‘Forever and always’. When ‘love’ doesn’t quite cut it, this little phrase will give you the most beautiful ending to any love letter you will send. Literally translated as ‘for-ever and until never’ this is the French quote that captures a timeless hope for now and the future.

Our modern muse Marion Cotillard shows us that this goes for our French heroines too. Whether she’s inspiring on the red carpet or transformed into Parisian icon Edif Piaf, she is the classic French heroine reinvented for the now, and a sophisticated modern muse that never fails to impress.

3. “Parce que je t’aime”

[Pronounced: Parrsse-kuh juh tem] Quite simply means, ‘Because I love you’.

Taking our Cue from the great Bridget Bardot this is an eternal classic; always ready to turn to when you want something simple and timeless, but delivered with breath-taking style.
